  • Day 1: Vientiane

    Pass By: Vientiane, Vientiane, Vientiane Prefecture
    Upon arrival at Vientiane Airport you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to the hotel for check-in. If you time permits, take a half-day city tour and start you visit with the Wat Sisaket that is known for thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. En route to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa. Take some photos of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. The final visit of the day will be the excellent COPE Exhibition Center, highlighting a much overlooked aspect of Laos and a major problem many of the local people face on a day to day basis in the form of unexplored ordnance as a result of heavy bombing campaigns during the Vietnam War era.     Stop At: Wat Si Saket, Lane Xang Avenue, Vientiane, Vientiane 0100 Laos
    Wat Si Saket is a Buddhist wat in Vientiane, Laos. It is situated on Lan Xang Road, on the corner with Setthathirat Road, to the northwest of Haw Phra Kaew, which formerly held the Emerald Buddha

    The Pha That Luang or “Great Stupa” is the most important Buddhist monument in Laos. The large golden stupa in Vientiane is believed to enshrine a breast bone of the Buddha. The pagoda also known as That Luang is officially named Pha Chedi Lokajulamani, which translates to “World Precious Sacred Stupa”

    Stop At: COPE Visitor Centre, Boulevard Khouvieng National Rehabilitation Centre, Vientiane 0100 Laos
    COPE Vientiane is a non-profit organisation in Laos which provides prosthetic limbs, mobility assistance and rehabilitation for Lao people who can’t afford it

    Day 2: Vientiane - Luang Prabang (by air)

    Pass By: Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang Province
    In the morning you will be transferred to the airport and take a flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival in Luang Prabang, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. After a brief rest start your visit with the Vat Vixoune that is influenced by Thai- Lu architecture and That Makmo, the watermelon shape stupa. Climb up Phousy Hill for a panoramic view over the city and the Mekong River. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure. Stay overnight in Luang Prabang.

    Stop At: Vat Visounarath, Khem Khong, Luang Prabang 0600 Laos
    Wat Visounarath is the oldest standing temple in Luang Prabang, originally erected in 1512 by King Phothisarat and rebuilt in 1898.

    Stop At: That Makmo, Luang Prabang, Laos
    Which translates as ‘Watermelon Stupa’. Originally constructed in 1503, it was pillaged for hidden treasures during the 1887 destructions and the latest renovation (1932) coated the stupa in drab grey concrete

    Stop At: Phousi Hill, Luang Prabang, Laos
    Phousi Hill, also called Phousi Mountain is a small mountain in the center of Luang Prabang, located on the peninsula between the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers

    Day 3: Luang Prabang

    Pass By: Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang Province
    In the morning, visit the Royal Palace Museum that is housing the most important treasures of Laos’ recent past. Take a walk to the local pier of Luang Prabang behind the Museum to embark at the local pier of Luang Prabang on a traditional boat and go upstream on the Mekong River and visit the sacred Buddha caves. On the way stop by the Thin Hong, a picturesque village and get a glimpse of daily life. Visit Tham Ting and Tham Phoum caves housing hundreds of Buddha statues. Enjoy lunch at Suan Pak Ou restaurant near the caves at your own expense. Return to Luang Prabang by boat and en route stop at Ban Xang Khong handmade paper village. Take a walk in the old city or shop at Hmong Market. Overnight stay in Luang Prabang.

    Stop At: Royal Palace Museum, Haw kham Old Quarter, Luang Prabang 0600 Laos
    The Royal Palace Museum of Luang Prabang once served as the residence of King Sisavang Vong and his family during the French colonial era. Designed in the French Beaux-Arts style with many tasteful accents of traditional Lao culture, the palace was converted into a museum in 1995
    Duration: 45 minutes

    Stop At: Tham Ting, Where the Nam Ou River Meets the Mekong Where the Nam Ou River meets the Mekong, Ban Pak-Ou 0603 Laos
    Tham Ting Cave: It is known as “Holly Caves” where local people will get together during water festival or by local passengers/boat men who travel up and down the Mekong suppose to stop there for s short worship for good luck and short break.

    Day 4: Luang Prabang

    Pass By: Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang Province
    Visit the Vat Xieng Thong, one of the most beautiful temples of Luang Prabang, dating back from 16th century. The roofs of the Sim sweep low to the ground and glass colored panels adorn the walls of the chapels then proceed to Vat Mai with its five tiered roof and exquisite carved veranda. The tour ends in Luang Prabang. When the tour ends, you will be transferred to Luang Prabang International Airport for your onward tour.

    Stop At: Wat Mai Suwannaphumaham, Luang Prabang Laos
    The Wat Mai Suwannaphumaham or Wat Mai (New Monastery) is one of the biggest and most beautiful temples in Luang Prabang. Its central position (in front of the night market and beside the Royal Palace) makes it one of the most visited temples of this ancient royal town
