  • Day 1: Arrival (Free day or Optional) Thessaloniki "All Senses" Evening tour)

    This is the tour that will awake all your senses! Starting from the highest point of the city, “Kastra” known also as Ano Poli (the Old Town), we walk all the way down to the sea, through the narrow streets of Ano Poli, passing along a few of the most important historical and Byzantine landmarks of the city. From the White Tower, we take a relaxing cruise in Thermaikos Bay, where you can admire the fantastic view of the city, while you enjoy a drink! As the evening goes by, the time to taste the flavours of Thessaloniki has come. In the famous area “Ladadika” we take you for a traditional Greek dinner, accompanied by music followed by desserts, an evening you will always remember!

    Day 2: Thessaloniki City Tour

We will visit the Agios Demetrius Byzantine church and its crypt and you will also have the opportunity to visit the Archaeological Museum. free time for shopping and lunch. Return to Halkidiki.

    Day 3: Traditional Halkidiki and Mt.Athos Cruise

    Stop At: Mt. Athos Peninsula, Mt. Athos Peninsula, Halkidiki Region, Central Macedonia
    We depart for the charming village of Ouranoupoli in Halkidiki. On our way we will pass from Volvi and Koroneia lake and make a stop to admire the fortification of Ancient Stagira, birthplace of the famous philosopher Aristoteles. Reaching the port of Ouranopolis we embark for the cruise of Mount Athos where you can admire from a close distance (from the boat), the mysterious and miraculous place which has been for centuries the center of Orthodoxy and you will find out new information about the history of the Mount Athos and its monasteries. The area has transformed into a place of particular historical and cultural importance and enjoy a landscape of great natural beauty. After the cruise, free time for lunch or a walk in the village. Heading in the way back we visit Arnea one of the most picturesque villages of North Halkidiki. Return to Thessaloniki.

    Day 4: "Myth and History" Dion and Mount Olympus

    Stop At: Dion, Dion, Pieria Region, Central Macedonia
    Approx. 200 km / estim. duration 09.00-17.00. Departure for Dion, religious center of the Ancient Macedonians dedicated to the worship of Olympian Zeus, situated at the footsteps of the famous Mount Olympus, the mythical home of the Gods. In Dion, Alexander the Great offered rich sacrifices to the Gods before leaving for his legendary expedition to Asia. Visit of the archaeological site and the museum. We continue to the traditional village of Litochoro. Free time for a tour of this picturesque village and for a walk in the valley of Enipeas, on the low slopes of the mountain. Return to Thessaloniki.

    Day 5: Meteora Monasteries

    Stop At: Meteora, Meteora, Trikala Region, Thessaly
    A highlight of your stay in Greece will be a visit to the Meteora Monasteries. Meteora is a geological miracle, which one should see for himself to believe. Nowadays, only six monasteries are well preserved and four of them are still inhabited. We shall visit 2 of these fabulous monasteries, built high upon the steep rocks. Each monastery owns a vast richness of frescoes and icons. Afterwards, we will make our lunch break in Kalambaka. Return to the city of Thessaloniki.

    IMPORTANT NOTICE: For entering the monasteries of Meteora, appropriate clothing is required. Ladies must wear long skirts and must have long sleeves. Men are not allowed to wear shorts.

    Day 6: Athens Sightseeing

    From the Acropolis to Omonia Square, with the half day sightseeing and Acropolis museum tour, you’ll see all the famous sites of ancient and modern Athens on this comprehensive morning tour. Hear insightful commentary from your guide, and pass top Athens attractions including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Greek Parliament building and Presidential Palace Offering a perfect overview of the modern city, this guided half day tour will help you get your bearings if this is your first visit to Athens. The Athens half day tour, depart for a photo shot at Panathinaiko Stadium where first Olympic Games took place in 1896. It is the only stadium built out of white marble. Proceed, passing by Zappeion and Temple of Olympian Zeus. You will then pass the Athens Trilogy which includes the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, and the National Library. Continue passing by National Garden, Hadrian;s Arc, St. Paul’s Church, Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown soldier, Consistution square, Russian Orthodox Church, and finally Acropolis. Continue with a pleasent short walk passing by Herodion and Dionysos Theater, in order to visit the Acropolis museum. Main attractions such as votives, artifacts of every days life, statues from archaic period, Caryatids, and of cours the Parthenon hall with the metopes, the pediments and the frieze will impress you.

    Day 7: Delphi or Epidavros-Nafplio-Mycenae

    Leave Athens behind and head to the strategivally Corinth Canal (shortstop). Continue to Epidaurus and visit the majestic Ancient theathre, world famous for its outstanding acoustics. Proceed to the beautiful seaport town of Nauplia and through the plain of Argos arrive in Mycenae. Visit the archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Learn about the classical Greek culture as you walk through this impressive archaeological site. Overnight stay in Olympia.
