Honey Hunting Tour is one of the unique adventurous Tours that includes the amazing and surprising scene of Nepal with it. Honey Hunting is the thrilling and adventurous activities which is also a popular tourist activity primarily focused for the brave and the strong ones having good knowledge about Rock Climbing and information about the Wild bees.

Extracting honey from rock bees that live in steep slope is an age-old tradition of some of the idegineous Nepali communities like Gurungs and Magars in rural areas of Dhading, Gorkha and Kaski districts. While the honey hunting as a profession is slowly fading out, it still retains its traditional glory with a meticulous ritual followed during each honey hunting event.

  • Day 1 - Landing at Kathmandu

    On your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, our representatives will pick you up with your name on a sign board and will escort you to the hotel.

    Kathmandu is the largest metropolis of Nepal, is the centre of the country’s history, art, culture and economy. Containing the remnants of Nepal’s medieval era in the form of old Durbar Squares and temples, many of the city’s old monuments and buildings are also listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. The city is a cornucopia of temples and shrines dedicated to various deities and gods and contain dense concentrations of religiously and historically significant locations. Touring the city provides a deep insight into the rich history of the country and it is a great way to be close to Nepal’s authentic artistry and its prominent riches that are displayed brilliantly on its many old buildings and complexes.

    At the hotel, we have organized a small welcome program just for you.

    Day 2 - Kathmandu sightseeing

    After breakfast, we will be taking you on a tour around the Kathmandu Valley. In Kathmandu, we tour Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Boudhanath stupa which are all world heritage sites. We also visit the Patan Durbar Square which is another World Heritage Site. The square is reminiscent of medieval Kathmandu with beautiful courtyards, temples and shrines noted for their exquisite architecture and delicate carving. We also tour the Patan museum while we are in Patan Durbar Square.
    Day 3 - Drive to Khudi

    Today after having breakfast we will drive for your honey hunting tours. After 4 hours drive from Kathmandu we will arrive at Vimal Nagar where you can visit Siddha cave (the biggest cave in Asia). Then from here, after driving about more 3hrs we will reach Khudi village. You’ll be heartily welcomed by the villagers. At evening have a slide show program about the bee hunting.

    Day 4 - Trek to Ghalegaun

    After Breakfast, we trek through some interesting villages. After Lunch, We slowly trek to our 1st day camp called Ghalegaun. Ghalegaun is purely a Gurung Village which carry history of Gurung people. The trek is about 6 - 7 hours long.

    Day 5 - Honey Hunting

    This day can be challenging for collecting honey. The lead honey hunter collects honey in the bucket from the beehives and passes down to another person. This wild honey was used for a medical purpose which still exists and has medicinal value with a great deal of money in the international market. With honey hunting, there is the chance of viewing and experiencing the traditional honey harvest of Gurung people. Nepal honey hunting is a tradition twice (spring and autumn) a year to collect the wild honey from the hive hanging on a rock hill.

    Honey Hunters do pray before they go to the proper place. We can also see the heart thrilling honey hunting program at cliff. You will enjoy the Natural honey hunting , after that we return back to the guest house.

    Day 6 - Trek back to Khudi

    On the following day you will trek back to Khudi which demands walk of 6 to 7 hours. If you have time and wish to swim then you can take the advantages of swimming at Natural swimming pool. You have to walk at Bank of the Marshyangdi River and Khudi stream. Here, you will get to outlook Kanchenjunga, Chitwan National Park and so on.

    Day 7 - Back to Kathmandu

    In the early morning, we will be returning back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we return to Hotel and have time to rest and relax. Rest of the day is yours to enjoy.

    Day 8 - Final Departure

    It may be an end to one journey, but another will surely begin! Your journey has officially came to an end on this day.

    Approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight time, our representative will transfer you to the airport.
