  • Day 1: Travel to Amarbayasgalant monastery

    Stop At: Amarbayasgalant Monastery, Amar Hiyd Mongolia
    In a secluded valley, surrounded by rugged mountains and rolling hills, Amarbayasgalant is the third largest monastery of Mongolia. When Buddhism flourished in Mongolia in 18th century, the Monastery had over 40 temples and over 3000 monks lived around the monastery. Visit the monastery and take a short hike to the Buddha statue and the giant stupa at the hilltop nearby.

    Day 2: Travel to Uran extinct volcano

    Stop At: Uran Togoo, Mongolia
    Situated in a State Protected Area of northern Mongolia, Uran Togoo is an extinct volcano that erupted around 20 to 25 thousand years ago leaving round shaped crater. Once we arrive at the base of the volcano, we hike and enjoy the panoramic view of surrounding from the top and even visit to the small pond at the bottom of the crater.

    Day 3: Travel to Khuvsgul lake

    Stop At: Khuvsgul Lake, Mongolia
    Khuvsgul lake - the Blue Pearl of Mongolia, is a freshwater lake that contains nearly 2 percent of the world’s and 70% of Mongolia's freshwater reserve. It is also the second voluminous lake in East Asia. The lake region marks the southern peak of Siberian ecosystem with dense forests and humid climate that are contrast to the rest of the Mongolia’s dry nature.

    Day 4: Hiking day at Khuvsgul lake

    Stop At: Khuvsgul Lake, Mongolia
    In the morning, we pack a lunch and drive to the base of Bayan mountain and hike 7 kilometers to its 2450m top with an elevation of 800m. Once at the top, have a lunch whilst enjoying an astounding bird-eye view of the crystal-clear lake that is complimented by its surrounding nature. The return hike will take 6 hours.

    Day 5: Travel to open grassland

    Stop At: Khuvsgul, Mongolia
    Drive across wide open grassland and river valleys, dotted with felt tents of herding nomads. Their large flocks of horses, yaks, sheep and goats will be a common sight during the trip. On the way, visit a nomadic family for a glance of the way of life which seemingly has not changed since hundreds of years. Arrive to a guest ger in the evening and settle for the night.

    Day 6: Travel to White lake

    Stop At: Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park, Khorgo Mongolia
    Travel on unpaved terrain to the White lake, a spectacular region of wooded dome shaped mountains, rugged terrain and lakes. Thousands of yaks, sheep and horses graze alongside the road. Created by an earthquake and volcanic eruption thousands of years ago, the lake surrounded by faults, canyons and extinct volcanoes. arrive to an another host family for overnight stay.

    Day 7: Travel Kharkhorin

    Stop At: Kharkhorin, Mongolia
    Kharkhorin a.k.a Karakorum – a town, the 3rd son as well as chosen successor of Genghis Khan built, is the capital of the Mongol Empire in early 13th century. Karakorum functioned as the empire’s capital for just a few decades and was eventually demolished by invading the Chinese Min Dynasty troops in late 14th century. The main attraction today is the Erdene Zuu monastery, one of the first Buddhist monasteries in Mongolia established in 16th century when Buddhism was introduced as the new religion. Later the monastery suffered almost a complete destruction during the anti-religion campaigns of 1930-ies with just a dozen of temples surviving till present. Spend some time in the peaceful premises of the monastery and take a glance at a few surviving artifacts of the old capital. And finally visit the new Karakorum museum - a fantastic collection of artifacts and of historical data that has continually been replenished by new findings and discoveries.

    Day 8: Travel to Ulaanbaatar, Khustai National Park en-route

    Stop At: Hustai National Park, Hustai National Park, Tov Province
    Khustai NP is where in 1993 a small number of last remaining wild horses was brought here from several European zoos and re-introduced to their historic homeland. Also known known as “Przewalski horses", Mongolian wild horses were extinct in Mongolia by 1950s. Today over 400 wild horses, all native to Mongolia, roam the park’s mountains and valleys having to withstand predators and harsh climate. A sizable population of red deer, Mongolian gazelles and wild mountain sheep has also found a refuge in the park and can be spotted with a little bit of luck. Upon arrival to the park’s guest resort we get introduced to the project followed by a lunch before embarking on a short trip to see wild horses. The national park is also home to large number of marmots which can be spotted even by the side of the road. After wildlife spotting excursion, we procceed to Ulaanbaatar and you will be taken to your accommodation.
