On this fully escorted tour we pass through various eco systems and experience a alpine environment. Join our exclusive escorted tour of the Observatory, the exhibition Gardens and the enjoy the opportunity to take in the views from the Western Wilderness viewing deck to see one of the last true wilderness areas on the planet.

On the descent from the mountain we have brief stop at the Cascade Gardens and the remains of the Female Convict prison The Female Factory.

    One of Australia’s most significant historical sites for women, the Female Factory was the female equivalent of Port Arthur and was used to hold both women and children throughout the 1820’s. It was a terrible place with only the most basic of facilities. Some ruins of the original building and walls still exist. A memorial garden and information wall/structure has been set up at the site to remember the tragic lives of those women.
