Why is high-quality Czech aromatic hops an essential ingredient for brewing beer and why has Czech beer made our country famous all over the world? What is the history of hops from the Middle Ages to the present? These and other questions are answered by a unique exhibition of the Hop Museum in Zatec.
The area of 4,000 m2 represents the development of hop growing from the early Middle Ages to the present day. In addition to the interesting collections of the museum, you will get to know your own object, which is a technical monument and an example of industrial purpose architecture from the late 19th century in the city known for the best hops in the world. You will learn why the best hops in the world are harvested in the Saaz region and why they have had to protect themselves from quality defects since the Middle Ages. You will be interested in historical photographs and written documents about hop growing and brewing. Here you will also find interesting tools, machines and historical machines.

The U Orloje Restaurant is a brewery restaurant in the original hop farm. Our gastronomy uses the symbols of the Saaz tradition of beer and hops. We always try to cook fresh, locally and seasonally.
The restaurant has one of the oldest microbreweries - the brewery U Orloje. The restaurant is also a brewery garden (terrace) with stage or the Presidential Lounge for celebrations or other occasions. The restaurant has 100 seats, the Presidential Lounge 35 seats and the Brewery Garden 100 seats.

The hop lighthouse dominates the hop and beer temple. It is located in the heart of the entire area of the technical monuments of hops. If you visit Žatec just for a jump and do not miss the entire tour of the Hop and Beer Temple, just pick the Hop Lighthouse and head up the 3D lift.
You can reach the Hop Lighthouse, which is also a lookout tower, by lift or on your own. The external staircase leads to the top of the tower and offers excellent views of the city center and the Saaz region. In good weather you can see the castle Házmburk in the northeast or the Erzgebirge in the west. If you climb the lighthouse, you can use binoculars focused on interesting details in Saaz.

The Žatec Brewery introduces you to the original production process, including carefully selected raw materials for beer production (water, barley malt and Žatec hops) that have for centuries guaranteed a balanced taste of genuine Czech stock. The only industrial brewery in Žatec will show you original cellars, open fermentation cellars and other treasures.
Enjoy a brief introduction to the history and presence of the brewery, visit the brewhouse, the whirlpool, the open fermentation cabins and taste a real sample. You'll also see how beer is filtered, real 100-hl storage tanks and a barrel and bottled beer bottler.
