    Stop At: Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, General Radetski St. Parc Tubelto, Kazanlak 6100 Bulgaria

    Our day tour will start early in the morning. At 8.00am you will be picked up from your hotel in Sofia to set out on a nice three hours journey through the picturesque South Balkan valleys. During our trip we will stop at some nice places to take beautiful pictures of the amazing landscape.
    At 11.00am we will arrive in the town of Kazanluk, the main city in the Rose valley and once proud capital of the Odrysian kingdom, which had existed between 5th c. BC till 1st c. AD. Our first stop for the day will be the famous Kazanluk tomb – part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Dated back from 4th c. BC. the tomb is one of the most remarkable Thracian sites in Bulgaria, revealing us the glory and the achievements of this enigmatic civilization. We will explore its outstanding frescoes, representing to us the power of king Roigos, who eventually was buried here and the belief of the Thracians in the afterlife.

    Stop At: Tomb of Seuthes III, 6150, Bulgaria

    Second place of our trip will be another tomb – “The Golyama Kosmatka”, considered to be one of the biggest in the country. Built to be the last home of Seutus the Third, the tomb will amaze us with its huge size – it is 130m in diameter and only the corridor, leading you to the main chamber is 13m.

    Stop At: Shipchenski monastery (St Nikolay), Shipka 6150 Bulgaria

    At 12.30pm it is time for our time jump from the Antiquity to early 20th century. We will head towards the small village of Shipka, where we will visit the beautiful Shipka Memorial church. Built in a memory of one of the greatest battles during the Russian-Ottoman war in 1877-1878, today the cathedral in a typical Russian style dominates the landscape above the valley of the Thracian kings and its golden domes could be seen from many kilometers away if the day is sunny.

    Stop At: Damascena Ethnographic Complex, Parvi Mai Street, Skobelevo Village 24, Pavel Banya 6148 Bulgaria

    At 1.30pm we will depart towards the small village of Skobelevo, where we will visit its Ethnographic complex. After nice lunch it is time to explore the secrets of the Bulgarian Rose. In the next 40 minutes we will learn why today this flower is the symbol of the country and why and how Bulgaria is the biggest producer of rose oil in the world. We will not miss to tell you even the romantic legend, which stands behind it.
    At 4.00pm we will start our journey back to Sofia, observing the sunset above the Valley of the Thracian kings, understanding why this magnificent place was chosen from this civilization to be their eternal home. We will arrive in Sofia approximately at 7.00pm.
