    Catherine Legardeur (1649-1732) was the widow Pierre de Saurel, governor of the lordship at the time of New France. She managed the lordship for 30 years.
    It is now honored by this wharf that connects Sorel to Saint-Ignace de Loyal on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River.
