Port Douglas is considered the gateway to the only area of the world where two World Heritage-listed sites meet, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree National Park. Perfect for any occasion, wildlife encounters, wellness treatments, lush landscapes, and opportunities for adventure are all at your fingertips. Take in the lush rainforest landscapes, hop on a tour to the Great Barrier Reef or simply explore the stunning stretch of coastline.

Great Barrier Reef

Take to sea or sky and discover the world's largest coral reef system. Head out on a glass-bottom boat or cruise to explore the vibrant underwater world that is the Great Barrier Reef. Get seasick? Then check out the underwater observatory at Quicksilver Cruises or see reef sharks, dolphins, sea turtles, and possibly even whales from above, on a scenic helicopter flight.

Daintree Rainforest

If nature is your thing, then a visit to Daintree Rainforest is a must - it’s the oldest, and arguably most scenic, living rainforest on Earth. Immerse yourself in the ancient rainforest and discover the unique wildlife on a night nature walk; enjoy a different perspective as you fly through the jungle on a zipline or venture out in search of crocs on a surprisingly relaxing croc-spotting river cruise

Swimming Holes

The perfect way to cool off from the summer heat is a trip to one of the natural swimming holes. Located inside the Daintree Rainforest and open year-round, Mossman Gorge is a wonder in itself, with crystal-clear water cascading over large granite boulders into the Mossman River. Mason’s Store also has a stunning swimming hole where you can often spot turtles and tropical fish.

Aboriginal Cultural Experience

Combining regionally-inspired food with Indigenous storytelling, Flames of the Forest’s Aboriginal Cultural Experience is an evening like no other. Australia’s only rainforest dining experience, follow the illuminated pathway through bushland, before dining beneath a canopy and listen as two local Aboriginal brothers share their culture and play some didgeridoo demos.

Shopping & Port Douglas Markets

Wander along vibrant Macrossan Street and you’ll find some beautiful one-of-a-kind boutiques, souvenir stores and Indigenous arts shops side by side with Australian and international designer labels. On Sundays, don’t miss out on the Port Douglas Market selling locally produced items such as hand-crafted goods, delicious coffee, home-made food and fresh fruit and veggies.

Al Fresco Dining

After a day of exploring the reef, beach or streets of Port Douglas, there’s no better way to unwind than to indulge in an evening of Al Fresco wining and dining. With ultra-fresh seafood, award-winning restaurants and impressive cocktails everywhere you look, the hardest decision you’ll have to make will be choosing which spot to try first.

Wellness Centres & Spas

No resort town is complete without a day spa, and Port Douglas is definitely not in short supply. Treat yourself to everything from deep tissue massages and hot stone therapies to seaweed wraps and coconut coffee scrubs - you’re guaranteed to leave feeling ahhh-mazing.
