Ellery Creek Big Hole - West MacDonnell Ranges
Enjoy a picnic on the sandy beach and look up towards the top of the cliffs. Plunge into the cool water for an invigorating swim at this natural waterhole near Alice Springs.
Ellery Creek Big Hole has been carved by thousands of years of massive floods and is considered a significant geological site. It is fed by the West MacDonnell Ranges and is known as ‘Udepata’ by the local indigenous people since it was a special meeting place for the Aranda people on their honey ant and fish dreaming trails.
